GREENVILLE — Gerald Wesley Mayo age 84 of Garland died on Feb. 9, 2013, in Garland at the Golden Acres Nursing Home.

He was born on Sept. 13, 1928, in Copeville to Erma Russell Mayo and Lillian Mason Mayo. He married Mary Ann Jobe on June 20, 1952, in Garland. Mr. Mayo was a member of Axe Memorial Methodist Church in Garland. He retired from Kraft Food in Garland after 40 years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Mary Ann Mayo, sister-in-law Ellen Pickerill and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

His parents preceded him in death.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Axe Memorial Methodist Church in Garland with Pastor Mike Nichols and Pastor James Minor officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at the church starting at 10 a.m.

Interment will be held at 3 p.m. at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City. Serving as pallbearers will be Gordon Bench, Tommy Reed, Billy Pickerill, Clyde Ray Pickerill, Ralph Pickerill Mike Pickerill, David Pickerill, and David London.
