Billy Prince

WOLFE CITY — Billy Ray Prince, 83, of Granbury died Jan. 15, 2013, at Community Hospice of Texas in Burleson. 

He was born in the White Rock Community near Wolfe City on July 31, 1929, to Jessie Edward and Mattie Starkie Prince. He married Betty Jane Herron on Jan. 22, 1957, in Greenville.

Mr. Prince served in the United States Army during the Korean War and earned the rank of sergeant. He was of the Baptist faith. 

He is survived by two sons, Mark Prince and wife Dianna of Joshua and Mike Prince of Granbury; daughter Marla Workman and husband Joe of Okemah, Okla.; eight grandchildren, Marsha Ford of Godley, Bryan Prince of Joshua, Brandy Nowak of Godley and Ashley Ketchum, April Workman, Amber Workman, and Brandon Workman, all of Oklahoma, and Hailey Prince of West Virginia, 10 great-grandchildren; one sister, Marie Brown of Sulphur Springs; sister-in-law Peggy Nelson of Wolfe City; and several nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Mount Carmel Cemetery in Wolfe City with Bro. Jim Gatliff and Mark Prince officiating. 

Visitation will be from noon to 1:30 p.m. Saturday at R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home in Wolfe City.

Pallbearers will be Mr. Prince’s grandsons and great-grandsons — Bryan, Carl, Brandon, Cody and Nicholas.
