CANTON —
Services for Benjamin Jack Stevens, 91, of Greenville are scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013, at Eubank Funeral Home chapel with Roger Ratliff officiating.
Burial will be in Haven of Memories in Canton.
He passed away Dec. 30, 2012, in Greenville.
Mr. Stevens was born June 18, 1921, in Gainesville to Benjamin Otowa and Shirley Ruth Butcher Stevens.
Mr. Stevens graduated from Crozier Tech in 1946. He retired from Texas Instruments after 18 years in 1986. He joined the Navy in 1942 as an apprentice seaman and flew on 50 missions as a flight engineer.
Mr. Stevens loved to tell stories. He also enjoyed fishing, ball caps, football, baseball and politics.
Surviving are seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 42 years, Jewell Stevens; daughter, Helen Todora; son, David Strickland; and sister, Margaret ruth Watkins.
Family will receive friends Wednesday one hour prior to the service.
