Jean Foster

GREENVILLE — Jean Foster, 82, of Greenville where she lived out her life, went to sleep Sept. 1, 2012, on Earth and woke up in Heaven on Sept. 2, 2012.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at 10 a.m. at Central Christian Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Dr. John T. Tate officiating.  Burial will follow at Bethel Cemetery. 

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jean was born May 31, 1930, in Greenville to Benjamine Curtis and Blanch Mable Clayton Morrow.  She married J. W. Foster in 1974 and he preceded her in death in 1989.

Jean retired from Southwestern Bell Telephone after many years of service and became very active in the community and her church. Organizations include the Telephone Pioneers, United Way, FISH (Hunt Counties Shared Ministries), Salvation Army, Eastern Star along with other charities and organizations. 

She was a longtime member of Central Christian Church serving as elder in the church.

She is survived by her children; Lee Duncan and wife Renee, Glen Duncan and wife Cindy; brother, R. H. Morrow all of Greenville; grandchildren, Jason Duncan, Marc Duncan and Adam Duncan; Kurt Duncan and wife Allayne, Terin Duncan and Clayton Cody Duncan; Chris Porter and wife Mona; ten great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, one brother in childhood Billy Curt Morrow and one sister Elaine Cross; daughter, Kathryn Porter and granddaughter, Carrie Royal.

The family request memorials may be made to the Central Christian Church or the FISH Ministries in memory of Jean Foster.

Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.

Hebrews 13:16 best sums up her life with, do not neglect doing good and sharing, for which such sacrifices God is pleased.
