Elizabeth Lavina Robertson, 89, of Commerce passed away Aug. 18, 2012, at Briarcliff Nursing Home in Greenville. A graveside service is planned at 1 p.m. Saturday at Rosemound Cemetery with Preacher R.J. Nanny officiating.
Betty was born Oct. 18, 1922, in St. Louis, Mo., to Claude and Viola Logan. She spent her early childhood in Missouri, and then her family moved to Encinitas, Calif. During World War II she was a riveter at a plant in Los Angeles, Calif.
She then married her husband, Raymond Melvin Robertson, a career U.S. Marine, on Aug. 3, 1955, in Yuma, Ariz. Betty and Raymond lived several places in the U.S. before settling in Commerce.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a brother, Jimmy Logan; and daughter-in-law Nancy Johnson.
She is survived by her son, William Johnson of Warren, Ohio; daughter and son-in-law Theresa and James Pemberton of Cumby; eight loving grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and many good friends at Oak Manor Nursing Home.
