GREENVILLE — Sammy E. Graves, 68, of Austin died May 11, 2012, at St. David Hospital in Austin following a short illness. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel with Bro. Gary Sprinkle officiating. Burial will be at Van Sickle Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Randy Bell, Danny Bell, Kent Mach, Kyle Mach, Kevin Tingle and Rick Espino.

He was born Nov. 18, 1943, in the Van Sickle Community in Hunt County, son of Drannon and Maude Boyce Graves.

At an early age he moved to Wolfe City. He graduated from Wolfe City High School and received a BBA from ETSU. He later moved to Dallas and worked for State Farm Insurance. Mr. Graves transferred to Austin and retired as an underwriter for State Farm with 28 years of service. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

Survivors are one brother, Weston “Red” Graves and wife Trudie of Greenville; three sisters, Carol Bain of Highland Village, JoAnn Sprinkle and husband Don of Greenville and Mary Mach and husband Milford of Bedford; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, three sisters and one brother preceded him in death.

He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
