Ellen Spaight

GREENVILLE — Ellen Marie Spaight was born Aug. 23, 1932, in Hondo to Martin and Dorothy Zinsmeyer and passed away March 14, 2013, in Greenville.

Ellen is survived by her husband, Michael Spaight of Greenville; sons Kevin Spaight and wife Jennifer of Arlington, Kerry Spaight and wife Ann of McKinney, Tim Spaight and wife Julie of Carrollton and Shawn Spaight of Leonard; daughters Lori Smith and husband Perry of Greenville, Lisa Lalani and husband Nawaz of McKinney and Jacque Murley and husband Wayne of Greenville; brothers Herb Zinsmeyer and wife Lois of Austin and David Zinsmeyer of D’Hanis; sister Emily Beck of D’Hanis; 12 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers Joe, Bernie and Jim Zinsmeyer.

Ellen was a woman of grace and beauty, loved by all who knew her. She grew up in the small town of D’Hanis and at a young age was swept off her feet by a handsome Air Force pilot by the name of Mike. They married in 1954 and raised seven children in Greenville. Ellen loved cooking, gardening, crafts and hosting friends and family. The great delight of her life was “mothering,” and she excelled at it. She wanted nothing more than to spend time with her children and grandchildren, teaching them the love of the Lord.

A rosary is scheduled at 6 p.m. today at Lynch Funeral Service in Greenville followed by visitation from 7 to 8 p.m.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
