Marvin Isham


GREENVILLE — Marvin C. Isham, 81, of Greenville passed away Sept. 6, 2012, at his residence.

Services are at 2 p.m. today in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Dr. James Ralson officiating. Interment follows at Shady Grove Cemetery. 

Born Nov. 2, 1930, in Greenville, Marvin was the son of Sam and Florance (Stover) Isham. On Oct. 7, 1949, he married Betty McFarlin in Oklahoma.

He served his country in the United States Army for two years serving in the Korean War. After 37 years, he retired from Lance as a truck driver. He was a longtime member of Lamar Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife of Greenville, son James C. Isham and wife Jeannie of Greenville, daughter Debbie Isham Blankenship and husband Steve of Greenville, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Margaret Daniel, brother J.L. Isham, and great-granddaughter Chasta Blankenship.

Pallbearers are Michael Isham, Jeff Isham, Chad Blankenship, Troy Blankenship, Gary Walls and Jerry Lewis.
