FARMERSVILLE —
William Ray (Bill) Acord of Farmersville passed away Saturday at Greenville.
He was born May 5, 1932 in Durant, Okla.; the son of William S. and Sadie Pherigo Acord. He married Gail Summers on October 17, 1953, in Rockwall.
He was a retired salesman and a member of the New Life Church in Caddo Mills. He also served in the United States Army.
Mr. Acord is survived by his wife, Gail of Farmersville; children, Stacy McCracken and husband Michael of Plano, and Billy Acord and Randall of Princeton; three grandchildren; Melissa McCracken, Elaine McCracken and Marshall McCracken; three grandchildren; Melissa McCracken, Elaine McCracken and Marshall McCracken; his sister, Mary Ann Harper of Howe; and brother, Tom Acord and wife Bonnie of Greenville.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Hurst’s Fielder Baker Funeral Home chapel in Farmersville with Butch Bruton officiating and interment will be in the Merit Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
