Jessie “JP” Kelley, 98, of Josephine — loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather — went to be with his Lord and savior on Aug. 12, 2012, in Rockwall.
He was born Sept. 17, 1913, in Henderson County to Luella Smith and William Haskell Kelley.
Mr. Kelley was known for his humor and quick wit. He was a farmer and mechanic and later retired from the Dallas Athletic Club.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, William and Faye Kelley, Johnny Kelley and Danny and Lou Ann Kelley, all of Josephine; daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Ed White of Caddo Mills, Eunice and Henry Morris of Mesquite and Kathy and Michael Farmer of Garland; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 75 years, Leona Kelley; a daughter, Wilma White; an infant daughter, Carolyn; a grandson, Jason Williams; and a great-grandson, Brent Wilson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, in the Lynch Funeral Home chapel in Caddo Mills. Interment will follow in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery in Caddo Mills.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, in the funeral home.
