GREENVILLE — WOLFE CITY — Peggy June Horton, 78, of Wolfe City died Oct. 7, 2012, at Hunt Regional Medical Center of Greenville. Her funeral service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday in the R.W. Owens & Son Funeral Home chapel in Wolfe City with Bro. Curtis French officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Jared Horton, Justin Horton, Cody Horton, Shawn McElyea, Phil Tanner, Derek Sheets, Stevie Sanders and Sam Perry will serve as pallbearers.

Daughter of Vernon Lee and Sarah Lillian Hamlin Scarborough, she was born June 12, 1934, in Ladonia. On April 5, 1954, she married Rex Edward Horton in Wolfe City. She retired from Henington Publishing Company and from Walmart. Mrs. Horton was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Wolfe City.

Survivors include Ricky Horton and wife Cheryl and children Jared, Heather and Shawn, all of Mansfield; Larry Horton and partner Trisha Edwards and children Jodee, Julie and Justin, all of Sherman; and Kevin Horton and wife Heather and children Cody, Clay, Courtney and Carrie, all of Wolfe City; 13 great-grandchildren; a brother, R.D. Scarborough and wife Mary; and a sister, Betty Rittenbury and husband Gene.
