Margaret Evans

GREENVILLE — Margaret Joy Evans, 77, passed away on Friday, March 8, 2013, at her home in Greenville. Margaret was born to Preston and Faye Howell on Aug. 2, 1935 in Maud, Okla.

She met and later married Houston Oral Evans on Dec. 5, 1952. They would enjoy 59 wonderful years together; be blessed with four children; Jeffery, Marjean, Gary and Victoria; and make their home in Lone Oak.

Margaret is preceded in death by his parents, Preston and Faye; her beloved husband, Houston; her son Jeffrey James “Guffy” Evans Sr.; and granddaughter Stevie Lynn Ray.

Margaret is survived by her son, Gary Evans; daughters, Marjean Allen and Victoria Evans;  grandchildren, Aaron Evans, Jeramy Slemmons and wife Cori and their children Kyle, Beau, and Rylee; Miranda McDaniel and husband David, and their children Hunter, Jakeb, Steven, and Allece; Joshua Christian and wife Lee and their children Bailey, Cooper, Harper, and Breanne; Kristyn Evans; Jeffrey Evans, Jr. and his children Gage and Gunner; Colten Lovvorn; Stormie Evans; Shiann Evans; Britney Allen; Baily Anderton, and John Anderton; as well as numerous extended family and friends.

A gathering of family and friends will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Peters Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, also at the funeral home. Interment will be at Hall Cemetery in Lone Oak.

The pallbearers are Jeramy Slemmons, Joshua Christian, Colten Lovvorn, Hunter Allen, Jeffrey Evans Jr., and David McDaniel.
