GREENVILLE — Iris Lynn Prince, 85, of Shreveport, La., (formerly of Greenville) passed away July 1, 2012, at her home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Melvin Ray officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Park Cemetery.  

Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. Thursday until service time at the funeral home.

Born Dec. 7, 1926, in Greenville, Iris was the daughter of H.M. (Monk) and Jewel (Cain) McGehee. On May 1, 1970, in Greenville, she married Walter Douglas Prince, who preceded her in death in 1992. She began her career as a secretary working for Temco (now L-3 Communications) in Greenville, from where she retired. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Greenville.  

She is survived by stepdaughters Cheryl Porter and Ginger Prince-Belew both of Prairiegrove, Ark., Laurie Tuttle of Florida, and Peggy Prince of North Carolina; sister Patty Jean Serbanic of Shreveport; nephews Mark Serbanic of Shreveport and Paul Serbanic and wife Donna of Temple; niece Kathryn Lynn Benedict and husband Pete of Alabaster, Ala.; six stepgrandchildren; and nine stepgreat-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons, Sammy, John and Robert Moore, and stepgrandchild Andrew Lynn Belew.
