David Row

GREENVILLE — Robert David Row, 62, of Port Angeles, Wash., passed away at his home Aug. 3, 2012, following an almost year-long illness.

David was born Sept. 13, 1949, in Greenville to Robert (Bob) Andrew and Charlene (Sandlin) Row.

David proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966 to 1969 and completed that service as a Spec. 4 mechanic. His service included tours in both Germany and Vietnam.  Upon completion of his military service, David continued working in the auto repair industry. He was a longtime employee of Tranco Transmission of Port Angeles when he became ill.

David’s personal interests included his most recent passion of competitive shooting, pleasure motorcycle riding, some camping, visiting and just hanging out with his and Beth’s very close-knit circle of wonderful, supportive friends and acquaintances, and their two dogs, Dewey and Sybil, which he cared for very much.

David was preceded in death by his father and great-niece, Victoria Garcia.

David is survived by his wife of 11 wonderful years, Beth Kovach-Row; his mother, Charlene; sons Robert David Row II (Sonja) and Christopher Scott Row (Teruwa); a sister, Sharon Dianne Holman — all of Texas; and a large extended family.

A memorial service and celebration of David’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at the Veterans Center of Port Angeles, Wash., with Reverend Barbara Willson officiating.

Friends will be received following the memorial service with food provided by the VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Floral deliveries must be delivered, no later than 5 p.m., Friday, Aug. 17, to Harper-Ridgeview Funeral Home, 105 W. 4th Street, Port Angeles Wash. 98362 (360-452-9701).

Donations, in David’s honor, may be made to VFW Ladies Auxiliary, 223 East 4th Street, Port Angeles, Wash. 98362.
