E.B. Kent

GREENVILLE — Graveside services for Mr. E.B. Arnwine Kent, 77-year-old Leonard resident, are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday at the Leonard Cemetery with Charles E. Wrenn officiating.

Family visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral chapel at Leonard.

He died Aug. 15, 2012.

Mr. Kent was born July 13, 1935, at Trenton, son of Ollie Floyd (John) and Amber Lee Arnwine Kent. He was a graduate of Leonard High School and East Texas State University at Commerce. He served his country as a member of the United States Army. He married Artie Lu Shaw March 30, 1956, at Durant, Okla. He retired from E-Systems in Greenville as a director of planning. Mr. Kent was a member of the First Baptist Church of Leonard, the Masonic Lodge and the Boy Scouts of America, being among the first Eagle Scouts from Leonard.

Survivors are his wife, Artie Kent of Leonard; his sons, David Kent of Lake Kiowa and John Kent of Leonard; his daughter, Cindy Kent of Leonard; his sister, Dortha Kent Savage of Leonard; his eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joe Kent and Bill Kent.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial gifts be made to Home Hospice, 505 W. Center Street, Sherman, Texas 75090.
