Margie Holcomb

GREENVILLE — Margie P. Holcomb, 73, of Greenville went to be with her Lord and Savior Feb. 14, 2013, in Greenville.

Funeral services celebrating Margie’s life were held at 3 p.m., Feb. 17, 2013, at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with Revs. Scott Lucas McManus and Jason Hammack officiating; burial followed at Camp Ground Cemetery in Poetry.

Ingram Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Pallbearers were Chris Holcomb, Russell Burns, Dustin Morrison, Michael George, Jesse Hartline and Jonathan Greer.

Margie was born Jan. 30, 1940, in Greenville. She is the daughter of the late G.D. and Exie Bea Greer. She was raised and attended school in Campbell.

She married Bertram Glenn Holcomb on June 30, 1954; and they made their home in San Diego, Calif., Phoenix, Ariz., and Corpus Christi before returning to Greenville. Margie was a former manager for Woody’s Store in Greenville for several years.

She was a longtime member of the Living Word Church in Greenville. Margie enjoyed reading, decorating, sewing, birds, writing poems, even writing and recording a record “My Little Poodle Dog.” More than anything she loved her Lord and spending time with her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tina Marie Toole, Aug. 3, 2006; her grandson, Jerry Beall; her great-grandson, Billy Joe Don Lewis; and sister Reba Payne.

She is loved and will be missed by her loving husband, Bertram Glenn Holcomb; sons Steven Holcomb and wife Deanna and Larry Holcomb, all of Greenville; daughters Ronda Burns and husband Rusty, Linda James and husband Jesse and Margie May Morrison, all of Greenville; grandchildren Delaina, Kristy, Chris, Jenny, Russell, Mark, Ronda, Tina, Dustin, Crystal, Jesse, and Ashley; 11 great-grandchildren; brothers Hubert Greer of Quinlan, Billy Greer and wife Carolyn of Greenville, George Greer and wife Doll of Katy, Johnny Mack Greer and wife Diane of Commerce; and sisters Martha Sue Wilcox-Clems and husband Hubert of Quinlan and Dixie George and husband Lawrence of Campbell and Janet Olson and husband Gene of Greenville.
