Sidney Stone

GREENVILLE — Sidney E. Stone, 82 of Quinlan, passed away on Feb. 1, 2013 at his residence. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 5, 2013, at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Ray Bailey officiating.  Burial will follow at Lakeside Memorial Park in Quinlan. 

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Sidney was born in Kemp to William and Janie Phillips Stone. He married Betty S. Cotton on Jan. 1, 1955, in Oklahoma.

Sidney was a Veteran serving his country in the U.S. Marines. He worked as a carpenter with the Mesquite Independent School District and was a member of the Family Fellowship of Greenville.

He is survived by his wife; sons, Roger Stone and wife Kathy, Kenny Stone and wife Cathy, Randy Stone and wife Brenda all of Quinlan; daughter, Cindy Cothrin and husband Gary of Royse City; grandchildren, Ronnie Holcomb, Jan Vasquez, Steven Stone, Krystal Cameron, Kellie Stone, Kyle Stone, Kevin Stone, Taylor Stone, Kevin Cothrin and 12 great-grandchildren.

His parents, three sisters and  one brother precede him in death.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Holcomb, Steven Stone, Kyle Stone, Kevin Stone, Kevin Cothrin, Larry Walker, Rene Vasquez, and Billy Cotton.
