William “Bill” Houston Brannan Sr., 82, of Quinlan passed away Dec. 20, 2012, at his residence.

Services will be at 11 a.m., Monday at Vansickle Baptist Church with Rev. Roger Ratliff officiating. Interment will follow at Wieland Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Born Aug. 8, 1930, in Hawley, Bill was the son of Joseph Thomas “Joe” and Mattie Stapleton Brannan.

On April 2, 1954, in Dallas, he married Florence Letson. He served in the United States Army and Navy.

He worked for Lone Star Donuts for 51 years working his way from donut cutter to vice president.

Survivors include his wife Florence of Quinlan; son Bill Brannan, Jr. and wife Peggy of Lone Oak; daughters Gina Huggins and husband David of Greenville and Sandra Stanley of Caddo Mills; sister Jean McKinney of Frisco; nine grandchildren Eric Huggins, Keri Goodwin, Keli White, Chris O’Grady, Tiffanie Basham, Aerin Wade, Justin Brannan, Joseph Brannan, and Emily Brannan; and 14 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters Mable Adkisson, Kathryn Tharp, Winona Fox, and Deloris Underwood.

Pallbearers are Greg McKinney, Ricky Underwood, Dennis Underwood, Eric Huggins, Chris O’Grady and Freddy Borchardt. Honorary pallbearers are Bubba Goodwin and Spencer White.
