Patrick McDermott 72, of Lone Oak passed away July 13, 2012 in Greenville. He was born June 6, 1940, in Bronx, N.Y. to David and Kathleen McDermott.
Pat proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He worked for IBM as a systems engineer for 27 years. His life’s passion was golfing with his fun-loving friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Polly McDermott; son, Kyle of Kailua, Hawaii; mother, Kathleen Montgomery of Commerce; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; a brother, Michael McDermott; mother-in law, Ginny Fredine; and sister-in law, Babby Uoqstrom.
A celebration of his life will be Saturday, July 21, 2012. from 2 to 10 p.m. at his home located at 4886 White Rock Road, in Lone Oak. Lynch Funeral Service of Greenville is in charge of arrangements.
