Dorothy Howell

GREENVILLE — Dorothy L. Howell, 86, of Quinlan, died Aug. 5, 2012, at Legend Health Care. Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. John Cox and Mr. David Clinkscale officiating.  

Visitation will begin at 6 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Howell was born in Cape Girardeau, Mo., on June 4, 1926. She was the daughter of Louis A. and Radie Ellen Stacy O’Howell. On March 16, 1946, she married Eugene D. Howell in Jackson, Mo. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caddo Mills. Mrs. Howell was a retired secretary and formerly owned Howell’s Greenhouse in Burleson.  

She is survived by her husband, Eugene Howell of Quinlan; a son, Keith Howell of Greenville; daughters Karen Clinkscale of Granbury and Sherry Ryan of Quinlan; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  

She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers Grover O’Howell and George O’Howell; and sisters Dora Williamson, Audrey Welker, Edna Baker and Wanda Break.  

The family requests memorials be made to Parkinson’s Disease Foundation or Arthritis Foundation.
