GREENVILLE —
Stephen Dale Roach, 51, of Greenville, passed away Friday, July 20, 2012, at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas. Stephen was born to Merle and Euna Roach in Dumas, Texas on Feb. 20, 1961.
He married Penny Ross on March 27, 1982 in Greenville.
Stephen loved to hunt, fish, and spend time in the great outdoors. He was an avid gardener as well, but his passion was his family. Stephen was a loving husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
Stephen worked for Wings Industries for over 25 years and was also employed with the Greenville ISD for over seven years before becoming disabled. Stephen attended the Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church whenever he was able.
Stephen is preceded in death by his father, Merle Roach; as well as two sisters, three brothers and one grandson, Victor Gutierrez III.
Those left to celebrate his life include his beloved wife of thirty years, Penny Roach; his daughters, Hollie Gutierrez and her husband Victor and Felicia Roach; three grandchildren, Austin and Jaxon Gutierrez and Chloe Stone; his mother, Euna Roach; as well as one brother; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends. He will truly be missed.
A gathering of family and friends will be today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peters Funeral Home. A funeral service will be Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at 10 a.m. also at the funeral home. Rev. Bobby Sparks of Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.
