GREENVILLE —
Phillip Neal Skinner, 68, of Grand Saline died Sept. 11, 2012, in Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Eubank Funeral Home in Canton.
His funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in the Skinner family plot.
Phil was born April 29, 1944, in rural Van Zandt County near Grand Saline as the last child born to Henry Lee and Oree Whitt Skinner.
He attended Grand Saline schools before his family moved to Plainview in 1954. Phil moved back to the Dallas area when he was 17 and worked pipeline construction for many years.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jane Skinner in 2011; and three brothers, Lee Roy Skinner in 1945, Benny Skinner in 1975, and Dean Skinner in 2007.
Survivors include a son, Robert Skinner and wife Cindy of Quinton, N.J.; daughter Shirl Dunnahoe of Miller, Mo.; four grandchildren, Kirstian, Cody and Ryan Skinner of New Jersey and Whitney Dunnahoe of Missouri; three sisters, Imogene LaPrade of Grand Saline and Adell Thompson and Elaine Rains of Amarillo; Ruby Clower, a dear friend and caregiver; and many more family and friends in the area.
