Billie Jo Eason, 88, of Greenville passed away Feb. 7, 2013, at Hunt Regional Medical Center. Graveside services are at 2 p.m. today at Bethel Cemetery with Rev. Jim Corbet officiating. Visitation begins at 1 p.m. until service time at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Born Dec. 26, 1924, in Farmersville, she was the daughter of Charlie and Mavis (Steinbaugh) Putnam. On Aug. 2, 1941, she married William Albert Eason, who was killed while serving his country in World War II in the U.S. Army.
She married H.J. Eason on Dec. 8, 1945; he preceded her in death. Billie was a homemaker and a member of Greenville Bible Church.
Her survivors include her sons, Bill Eason and wife Belva of Greenville and Larry Eason and wife Paula of Celeste; grandsons Steven and Bill Eason of Celeste and Michael Eason of Sulphur Springs; great-grandchildren Lauren Gaughan, Lindsey Gaughan, Logan Gaughan, Sean Eason, Colby Hunter, Ayrn Eason, Allie Eason, Ty Eason, Tristen Baker, Kaela Eason, and Alyssa Eason; sister-in-law Lola Putnam of Palestine; and many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her beloved granddaughter, Deanna Eason Gaughan; a great-granddaughter; her parents; five brothers and one sister.
Family will serve as pallbearers.
