GREENVILLE —
Leeman H. Cook, 92, of Greenville passed away Jan. 21, 2013, at Hunt Regional Medical Center. Services are at 10 a.m. today in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Royce Litchfield officiating. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.
Born July 24, 1920, in Bonham, Leeman was the son of John Henry and Maggie Margaret (Barnard) Cook. On Aug. 14, 1937, in Greenville, he married Cordie Fay Hale, who preceded him in death on Nov. 9, 2000. He married Cordell Vandagriff on July 13, 2002, in Greenville.
Mr. Cook served in the United States Army and was a World War II veteran. He was retired from E/Systems. He was one of the founding fathers of the Greenville Little League and was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church.
His survivors include his wife, Cordell of Greenville; son Rickey Don Cook and wife Sue of Sulphur Springs; stepsons James Wattenbarger and Jerry Wattenbarger and wife Kay; stepdaughter Judy Hodges and husband Warren; brother Harold Cook of Ft. Worth; grandchildren Rod Cook, Leslie Cook, Marcus Cook and wife Amber, Aaron Cook and wife Aimee, and Heather McDaniel; 12 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, James Michael Cook in 1995 and Jerry Lee Cook in 2003.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Stevens, Gary Trainor, Olen Gillean, Carl Hess, Roy Hudson, and Ed Mann.
