GREENVILLE —
Dorothy Dailey Smith, 91, of Greenville passed away Jan. 15, 2013, at her residence. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Mr. Jerry Flud officiating. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow at Wieland Cemetery.
Born Sept. 21, 1921, in Hunt County, Dorothy was the daughter of Arthur and Etta (Carter) Dailey. On Feb. 14, 1941, in Greenville, she married L.J. Smith, who preceded her in death in 2007. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for McGaughey Drug Store, as well as being a homemaker. She was a member of the Church of Christ.
Her survivors include her son, Lynn Jay Smith and wife Judy of Greenville; daughter Sandra George of Greenville; grandchildren Keith Reeves and wife Donna, Kimberley Reeves and fiancée Steve Angell, Jeremy Smith and wife Lori, Chris Smith and wife Carissa, Chelsea Smith and fiancée Brandon, and Steve George and wife Shelley; and great-grandchildren Cheyenne, Cody, Taylor, Erin, Chloe, Charlize, Kylie, Travis, Maile, Jordan, Julia and Trevor.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers; and a son-in-law, Bill George.
Pallbearers will be Don Coppinger, Steve George, Steve Angell, and Hew Hamilton.
Honorary pallbearers will be David Lentz, Mike Dailey, Davie Reeves, Jackie Smith, and Mike Craven.
