Joseph McGough

Joseph Reece McGough, 62, of Greenville, passed away Friday, Dec. 28, 2012.

Joe was born May 11, 1950, in Dallas to Mary Evelyn Horton Behrens and Reece Haskell McGough. Joe proudly served his country for 22 years in the U.S. Army. After retiring, he became a successful small business owner.

Joe enjoyed the open road, driving and escorting heavy-haul and oversized loads for 17 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Linda, and grandson Adam.

 He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Cathy, daughter Kari McGough of Princeton, son Douglas McGough of Campbell, and daughter and son-in-law Sherry and Clifford Watts, along with loving grandchildren Dustin, Joseph, Chance, Jesse, Julie, Allison, Katie Jo, and Natalie; his brothers Leonard Rogers of Sonora and DeWayne Rogers of Bracketville; and numerous extended family members by whom he was much loved.

Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday Jan. 2, 2013, at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio with full military honors.

Doppenschmidt Funeral Home of New Braunfels is in charge of arrangements.
