Kathryn Rogers

GREENVILLE — Kathryn G. Rogers, 95, of Greenville passed away, Saturday, Feb. 4, 2012 at Briarcliff Health Center. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2012 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Randy Daw officiating.  Private burial will follow at Shiloh Cemetery in Campbell. 

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m.  Tuesday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Killian Sevier, Wayne Wallace, Glen Little, Mark Franklin, Charley Greene and Art Burns.

The daughter of J. L. and Annie Hale Bridges, Kathryn was born April 16, 1916 in Campbell. In 1935, the family moved to Galveston.

Years later she returned to Campbell and then moved to Greenville where she spent the remainder of her life.

She was married to Ernest C. Zinke for 26 years until his death in 1968 and to Johnnie C. Rogers for 34 years until his death in 2004. Kathryn always said she was very blessed to have been married to two wonderful and loving husbands.

Kathryn was a homemaker and a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ. For many years, she enjoyed participating in bridge clubs.

Kathryn is survived by niece, Wanda Elmore of Greenville; nephew, Larry Bridges and wife, Ada of Magnolia, Texas; nephew, William Bridges and wife, Barbara of Friendswood; nephew, Bill Rogers and wife, Pam of Tyler; niece Mary Helms and husband, Jack of Baton Rouge; niece, Sarah Klinger of Baton Rouge, La,; many great-, great-great and great-great-great nieces and nephews and special friends Wanda Sevier of Greenville and Betty Terry of Missouri City, Texas.

Kathryn was preceded in death by her parents, her husbands, her daughter, Anita and her two brothers William P. Bridges and Roger Bridges.

The family requests memorials be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children, 2222 Welborn Street, Dallas, 75219.
