Clyde Emmit Green was born June 7, 1938, in Cash to Lonnie and Lillie Green and went to his glorious homecoming on March 7, 2013, after a year long battle with cancer.
He met the love of his life, Barbara Jeanell Shepherd, in Greenville; and they were married Feb. 14, 1958. They had just celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend. Clyde was a member of First Baptist Church of Mesquite. He had a love for family, life, fishing and hunting.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie H. and Lillie Jones Green; brothers Dale Green, Austin Green and Carl Houston Green; sisters Alta Davenport, Thelma Russell, Virginia and Little Sissy.
He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Barbara Jeanell Green; children Gregory Clyde Green and wife Twila and Sherrie Green McAnally and husband Mike; grandchildren Natasha Kay Green, Gregory Taylor Green, Christopher Keith Allgood and Matthew Clyde Allgood; great-grandchildren Caroline Kay Zbiegien and Haven Brice Allgood; a sister, Faye Barnes; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be from 1 to 2 p.m., March 16, at First Baptist Church, 127 E. Kimbrough, in Mesquite.. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.
New Hope Funeral Home of Sunnyvale is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers contributions may be sent to the American Cancer Society.
