Linda Spacek

HALTOM CITY — Linda Myers Spacek, 66, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed from this life into the hands of her Lord and Savior on March 7, 2013, in Haltom City.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Tuesday in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be at 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home.

Linda was born on Jan. 13, 1947, in Commerce. She worked in the family store, Myers Grocery in Greenville, and accounts receivable for Loomis Armored Inc., Fort Worth. She was a member of Glenview Baptist Church for 37 years.

She was an incredible person who during her life managed rough relationships, her own personal demons, two exuberant children and continually battled the sadistic disease, cancer.

Linda faced her life in her own unique style and with a faith granted from her Lord and Savior. She sought after Him constantly throughout her life. Her family, friends and church are so happy that she has finally succeeded in finding rest and seeing His face. Matt 21: 21, 22.

Linda was the daughter of the late J.W. and Dorothy Myers of Greenville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Joseph Porter.

The family wishes to thank Dr. Mark Messing and the entire staff of Texas Oncology, the special nurses and aides of Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, and the many ovarian cancer-surviving sisters who have blessed our family for years.

Survivors ae her loving husband of 19 years, Frank Spacek, ret. Master Sergeant USMC; children Ashley Porter (Lee) and spouse Brooke and Melinda Strittmatter and spouse Stacy; grandchildren Jared McConathy LCPL USMC, Madison Porter and Gracie Porter; sisters Rhonda Scheeler and spouse Jerry and Theresa Esqueda and spouse Gus; brothers Ronnie Myers and spouse Loretta and Dee Myers and spouse Lari; and numerous loving nieces, nephews and extended families.
