GREENVILLE — ATLANTA, Texas — Rev. William Dale “Bill” Hooten, 81, of Atlanta, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Aug. 27, 2012, in a Texarkana, Texas, hospital.

Bill was born Aug. 24, 1931, in Point to William and Laura Hooten. He was an Assembly of God ordained minister and businessman. He enjoyed spending time with his family and reading his Bible.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gene Hooten.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Fay Hooten of Atlanta, Texas; three sons, David Hooten and wife Cheri of Waskom, Texas, Kenneth Hooten and wife Patti of Queen City, Texas, and Ronnie Hooten and wife Lynette of Waskom, Texas; one daughter, Toran Hartsell of Buffalo, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are at 10 a.m. today at Cornerstone Assembly of God in Atlanta with Rev. Fred Calhoun, Rev. Josh Lee and Rev. Samuel Nuckels officiating.
