GREENVILLE — Olan Jean Andrews, 87, passed away quietly on July 30, 2012 in Allen.

Olan was born to Joel M. and Ida M. Andrews on Aug. 30, 1924, in Campbell.

Olan met Billye Dean Austin and later married her on Nov. 29, 1944. To this union was born five children, Linda, Billy, Janice, Joel and Jessica. Olan began his public ministry at the House of Prayer Church in Greenville in 1962. He would later pastor several churches in north Texas for the Assemblies of God for over 40 years.

Olan was preceded in death by his parents, Joel and Ida; his brother, J.M. Andrews; and his beloved wife, Billye Dean.

Those left to celebrate his life include his sons, Billy Andrews and Joel Andrews and wife Kimberly; his daughters, Linda Mandrell, Janice Andrews and Jessica Andrews; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and a host of friends and neighbors.

A gathering of family and friends will be held Wednesday from 6 to 9 p.m.  at Peters Funeral Home in Greenville. A funeral service will be held the following day, Thursday, at 10 a.m. also at the funeral home. A private family interment will follow the service at Shady Grove Cemetery. Reverend Kenneth Ballard of the House of Prayer will officiate.
