Larry Heath

Larry David Heath, 64, was born on Feb. 5, 1948, to Herschel David and Lovie Durall Heath in Greenville. He left us on Aug. 10, 2012, with his loving wife Frances by his side at their home in Tuskahoma, Okla.

Ssgt. Larry D. Heath proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines and was honorably discharged after retiring from the I & I Staff in Broken Arrow, Okla.

Originally from Caddo Mills, Larry joined the Marines after graduating from high school. During his time in the Marines Larry traveled the world to places like Japan, Korea, Phillippines, Okinawa, Vietnam, Egypt, Israel, Afghanistan, Germany, Great Britain, South America, and numerous duty stations in the U.S.  Larry was a lifetime Marine who was dedicated to his country and his family. 

In his free time he enjoyed drag racing, bluegrass music, archery, and being outdoors.  Larry also loved being around his kids and grandkids.

After retirement from the Marines Larry worked as a master technician for Chevrolet and would later open his own business in Clayton, Okla. with his wife Frances. Together they built the home of Larry’s dreams where kids and grandkids would gather for holidays, family gatherings and weekend cookouts. Larry spent his final days in the comfort of his own home. 

He was preceded in death by both parents; a brother-in-law Lonnie Furbay; a brother, Jerry McCasland; a daughter-in-law, Paige Kelly; and a grandson Noah Leyva.

He is survived by his wife Frances; his five children, Wendy Regan of Caddo Mills and husband Jimmy; Bradford Heath of Jenks, Okla.and wife Kay; Jesse Heath of Greenville, and his wife Emily; David Kelly of Sulphur Springs and his wife Shay and Dava Leyva of Sulphur Springs; 13 grandchildren Matthew Regan, Nathan Regan, Christopher Regan, Katelyn Heath, Aaron Heath, Brooklyn Heath, Olivia Heath, Rye Kelly, Mia Kelly, Ava Kelly, Lexis Leyva, Tristen Leyva, Caden Leyva, and three great-grandchildren, Brady Regan, Brice Regan, and Kathaleen Regan; two sisters, Sharon Furbay and Sandra Heath of Sulphur Springs, ; two brothers Jason Heath of McKinney and Charlie Heath of Austin; and a niece Debra Furbay and numerous beloved family members.

Pallbearers are Andy Githens, Sonny Nelson, Matt Witte, Marty Atkins, Jimmy Long, and Steven Holley. Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Regan, Nathan Regan, Aaron Heath, and Rye Kelly.

Services will be Tuesday, Aug.14, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Tuskahoma Baptist Church in Tuskahoma, Okla. 

The family will receive friends and family from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Clayton Funeral Home in Clayton, Okla., which is in charge of arrangements.
