Russell Eugene Casey, 84, of Greenville passed away peacefully at home on Jan. 19, 2013.

Born March 10, 1928, in Bakersfield, Mo., to Jack and Melissa Casey, he served in the Air Force and received a degree in industrial arts from East Texas State University.

Russell retired from Texas Instruments after 30 years of service; was a partner in D&R Contractors, a utility construction company; and went on to open Casey’s Corner Self Storage in Greenville.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Annie Laurie Overall Casey; a sister, Mona Easley of Greenville; a brother, Grover Casey; his son, Steve Casey and wife Rosalia of Greenville; his daughter, Melissa Walker and husband Lowell of Saint Louis, Mo.; and two grandchildren, Josh and Laura.

Russell’s kindness, wisdom, generosity, helpfulness, and his many other outstanding qualities will be sorely missed.

Services will be at DFW National Cemetery on Feb. 8 at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Research at 800-272-3900 or alz.org.
