Donald Brown

Donald Augusta Brown, 80, of Lone Oak went to be with his Lord and Savior on Jan. 12, 2013, at his residence. Funeral services celebrating Donald’s life are at 10 a.m. today at Ingram Funeral Home in Quinlan with his grandson, Rev. Tony Brown, officiating. Burial will follow at Memoryland Cemetery in Greenville.

Mr. Brown was born Feb. 29, 1932, in Greenville, the son of the late William Price and Willie Inez Weatherford Brown.

 He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Belinda Brown; one brother and two sisters. He was raised and attended school in Quinlan.

He married the former Miss Imogene Robertson on Nov. 24, 1951; and they made their home in Quinlan before moving to Lone Oak in 1997. Mr. Brown was a self-employed carpenter all his life.

He was a 50-year member of the Royse City Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, growing flowers and fruit trees. He also liked to play dominos and checkers. He even drove modified race cars in his early years.

He is loved and will be missed by his loving wife of 61 years, Imogene; sons Larry Brown and wife Laura of Quitman, Morris Brown of Lone Oak, Randy Brown and wife Gina of Quinlan, Tracy Brown and wife Sherry and Ronald Brown and wife Barbara of West Tawakoni; a daughter, Kathey Brown of Lone Oak; 17 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister Jane Elkins of Colorado.
