GREENVILLE —
WINNSBORO — Truman E. Rushing, age 71 of Winnsboro, passed away on Dec. 29, 2012.
He was born on March 17, 1941, in the Forest Hill Community of Wood County to the late Luther Rushing and Artie Mae Spencer Rushing. Truman was a watermelon farmer, cowboy, truck driver, welder, dozer operator, cattleman, and a member of Pine Street Baptist Church. He was truly one of a kind and “Pa” will be sorely missed by his grandkids. He married Betty Carolyn Jarred Rushing on Oct. 19, 1963, at the Shady Grove Church, she preceded him in death on April 5, 2007.
He is survived by a son, Gary Rushing and wife Colleen of Longview; daughters, Gina Rushing of Greenville, Tina Rushing of Longview; a brother, Avon Rushing and wife Wanda of Snyder; four grandchildren, Hayden Rushing, Taylor Rushing, Avery Waits, and Emma Rushing.
The family received friends on Dec. 30, 2012, at Beaty Funeral Home 816 W. Broadway, Winnsboro. Services were at 1 p.m. Monday at Beaty Funeral Home, with Richard “Nub” Brown officiating. Interment followed at Shady Grove Cemetery in Wood County. Serving as pallbearers were Randy Mitchell, Paul Thomas, Bill Weems, Shannon Davis, Gaylon Birdsong, Darrell Rushing.
