Val Lorie Stephens, 73, of Greenville, passed away Dec. 22, 2012, in Greenville.
Val was born on Feb. 14, 1939 in Kyle to Noble Doherty and Alma Langford Doherty. Val was a fan of the University of Texas.
Val is survived by son, Jodie Hoy and wife Eileen of Allen; daughter, Sherry Bakkum and husband Randy of Greenville; sisters, Helen and Kathy Doherty; grandchildren Michael, Jennifer, Brandon, Brian S., Brian B. and Summer; and great-grandchildren, Odie, Preslie, Archer and Hayden.
Val was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Herman Stephens, and her children’s father, Leroy Hoy.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2012, at Hart Cemetery.
