Carl “Hoss” Oler Jr. was born Feb. 28, 1927, to Carl C. and Opal O. Oler in Cody Rains County, Texas. He went to the Lord on Aug. 12, 2012.
Carl was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Oler; brother Joe Oler; and sisters Jane Guslavison and Louise Gadner.
He is survived by his two daughters, Mardi Talkington and husband Mike of Texas and Cindy Becker and husband Denny of Illinois; four grandchildren; several cousins; his niece, Pat Day; and nephew Joe Keith Oler.
Carl was a retired Dallas Morning News employee and had been a member of the Master Masons since 1956.
Restland Funeral Home of Dallas is in charge of arrangements.
