GREENVILLE — Henry Lee Smith Jr. took flight to heaven on Oct. 13, 2012. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. V. Lockhart officiating. Burial will be in Grundy Memorial Park.

Visitation is from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. today at Grace & Mercy Funeral Home.

He was born Nov. 16, 1968, to Brenda Lee Champion and Henry Smith.

He leaves to cherish his life his mother and father of Greenville, Brenda and Kenneth Champion; his wife, Gwendolyn M. Smith of Dallas; his sister, Takola M. Ray of Dallas; his brothers, Antionio Smith of Greenville and Kenneth Champion Jr. of Greenville; sisters Sharandell and Anthony Hines of Dallas and Erica and Lamont Smith of Dallas; his daughter, Dayna R. Reeves of Greenville; sons Alfred Whetstone of Dallas, Damien Smith of Houston and J.T. Palmer of Greenville; seven grandchildren; eight nieces and nephews; a special aunt and uncle, Shirly and Billy Kendrick; and a special cousin, Katina Kendrick.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Smith; a cousin, Tynaria Massey; great-grandmother Lillie Johnson; a great aunt, Carol Johnson; an uncle, Dwight Lee; cousins Larry Mathews, Felicia Goynes and baby boy Goynes.
