Freddie Ray Jenkins, 61, passed away Jan. 15, 2013, in McKinney.
He was born May 3, 1951, to Billy Ray and Margaret Ann Thompson Jenkins. He served in the U.S. Army and the Navy. He was in construction.
He is survived by his former wife, Barbara Herris Jenkins of Sherman; a son, Eddie Ray Jenkins of Atlanta, Ga.; daughter Dora Jenkins of Greenville; his mother, Margaret Jenkins of McKinney; sisters Diane Clark of Rockwall, Tonya Ponder of Houston, and Linda Tomlinson of McKinney; grandchildren Billy Jenkins Jr. and Tracy and Lacy Jenkins, all of The Colony, and Maleah Jenkins; as well as many cousins, relatives and friends. Freddie was preceded in death by his father, Billy Ray Jenkins, and a son, Billy Ed Jenkins Sr.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Friday at Charles W. Smith & Sons Funeral Home, 660 E. Highway 380, in Princeton, (75407, 972-562-7788). Rev. Stan Fike will officiate.
Following the service there will be a gathering of family and friends at the VFW in Princeton.
