GREENVILLE — John T. Williams, 81, of Greenville passed away Jan. 18, 2013, at Tender Care Nursing Facility.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Martus Miley, Jeanie Miley and Rev. Gene Wisdom officiating. Coker-Mathews Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Interment with full military honors will be at 2 p.m. Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, at Dallas/Fort Worth National Cemetery.

Born Jan. 31, 1931, in Greenville, John was the son of Tom L. and Stella (Peaton) Williams. On Dec. 22, 1953, in Lamesa, he married Kathleen Ball.

John served in the United States Air Force for 24 years retiring as a colonel. He worked as a pilot and squadron commander chief aircraft systems, strategic air command at Offutt AFB, Nebraska.

After retiring, he worked as a rancher and college professor. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. He was as Mason for 35 years and was a member of the Retired Officers Association.

His survivors include his wife of Greenville; and son Stephen L. Williams and wife, Kelly.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
