Elsie Juanita Prince McAnn was born June 1, 1921, to Frank Burl and Bessie Lourene Fox Prince. Elsie departed this world to be with her Lord and Savior Oct. 1, 2012.
Elsie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Vernon McAnn Sr.; her sister, Mary Frances Julian; a brother, Gene Prince; and granddaughter Wendy Leigh Smalley.
She is survived by brothers Harold Prince of Midland and Bill Prince of Campbell; daughters Ann Robertson Smalley and husband Roy and Jan Robertson Denney and husband John; a son, Thomas V. McAnn and wife Connie; grandchildren Cindy Hoover English and husband Gary, Shelby Hoover Turner and husband Jarrod, Trae McAnn and wife Amanda and Mandy Pack and husband Dallas; great-grandchildren Zack and Zane English, Maggie and Jake Turner, Grace and Abigail Pack, and baby girl McAnn who will arrive in January 2013.
Elsie married Ray Robertson in 1938; and to this union were born two daughters, Ann and Jan. In 1957 she married Thomas V. McAnn; to this union was born a son, Thomas V. McAnn Jr.
Elsie was a creative seamstress who could make clothing or any other item without a pattern.
She retired from E-Systems (L-3) in 1985 after working 12 years as an upholstery seamstress. The oldest of five children, she was raised on a farm, was a hard worker, picking cotton as a child and helping raise her younger siblings.
She was a longtime member of Ardis Heights Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school.
Services for Elsie McAnn will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Peters Funeral Home conducted by Pastor Danny Gandy. Visitation will precede the service from noon to 1:45 p.m. Burial will be at Brigham Cemetery in Campbell.
