Mal Sun Chung, 80, of Greenville, died Aug. 16, 2012, at Hunt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services are at 2 p.m. today at Westview United Methodist Church under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home. Rev. Veronica Greanead will officiate Interment follows at Memoryland Memorial Park.
Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
Mrs. Chung was born in South Korea on Sept. 21, 1931. She was the daughter of Bu Sik Kim and Woo Sul Lee. She married Yong Hwan Chung in December 1948 in South Korea.
She was a devoted and dedicated homemaker to her husband and four children. She was a member of Westview United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Chung is survived by her husband, Dr. Yong Hwan Chung of Greenville; sons Chun Ki Chung of Harlingen, Hyo Ki Chung of Greenville, and Wan Ki Chung of Pearland; a daughter, Hyo Won Chung of Katy; brothers Jung Bum Kim and In Bum Kim, both of South Korea; sisters Jung Sun Kim and Ick Sun Kim, both of South Korea; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Ick Bum Kim; brother-in-law Yong Sang Chung; and parents-in-law Gu Hwa Chung and Jagun Ock Park.
