Rev. Floyd John Wallace, 71, of Emory passed away Nov. 5, 2012, at Hospice of East Texas in Tyler. Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Coker-Mathews Funeral Home chapel with Rev. Kenneth Ishmael and Jonathan Bailey officiating. Interment will follow at Smyrna Cemetery near Emory.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Born Oct. 20, 1941, in Rains County, Floyd was the son of John R. and Lillie Mae (Haught) Wallace. On March 25, 1977, in Durant, Okla., he married Nina Smith.
He was employed as a foreman for the City of Dallas and was also employed at the Rains Independent School District. He served as pastor of the Dunbar Union Church.
His survivors include his wife of Emory; daughters Patricia Kay Bailey of Seagoville and Pamela Lynn Wallace of Dallas; grandchildren Melissa, Shannon, Andrew, Jonathan, Michael, Amanda, and Tiffany Marie; 14 great-grandchildren; nieces Sandra Wallace Miller and husband Matt and Glenda Wallace Murray and husband Tony; and nephew Kevin Wallace and wife Catherine.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Wallace.
