Christmas closings announced

GREENVILLE — Many government employees will receive the gift of a four-day weekend, as city and county offices close for the Christmas holiday.

The same offices will also get an extra Tuesday off to start the new year.

City of Greenville offices and the Library will be closed on Monday and Tuesday, December 24-25 for the Christmas holidays. The City will also be closed on Tuesday, Jan. 1 for the New Year holiday.

For after-hours utility emergencies, citizens may call 903-457-2948.

Hunt County offices will be closed on the same schedule.

IESI will not collect garbage or recycling on Tuesday, December 25 or Tuesday, January 1. Garbage normally collected those days will be collected on the next regular pick-up day. Residential recycling and commercial garbage collections will run one day behind. Live Christmas trees may be placed at the curb on the second garbage collection day each week for free collection by IESI. Ornaments, tinsel, and lights must be removed.

Federal government offices will be closed December 25 and January 1.

Senior Center Resources and Public Transit will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. No meals will be delivered on Dec. 24-25.

The business offices and the editorial department of the Herald-Banner will be closed Dec. 25 and Jan. 1.
