GREENVILLE —
A local concert venue is set to play host to another country music legend this spring.
Ricky Skaggs is scheduled to appear at the Greenville Municipal Auditorium as part of the Kenneth Threadgill Concert Series.
Tickets are on sale for the May 2 performance, which also features the Quebe Sisters, through the Greenville Municipal Auditorium web site at www.showtimeatthegma.com.
Skaggs began his career in bluegrass and in the more than 50 years since has won 14 Grammys in a variety of musical genres, including mainstream country. Skaggs also has a dozen consecutive Grammy-nominated classics behind him, all from his own Skaggs Family Records label.
Skaggs’ greatest hits include “Heartbroke”, “Highway 40 Blues”,“Uncle Pen” and many more.
The Quebe Sisters Band — Grace, Sophia and Hulda — feature fiddles and three-part harmony, along with a rhythm guitar and upright bass in a blend of western swing, vintage country, bluegrass, jazz & swing standards.
The band is touring behind their latest album, Timeless.
