GREENVILLE —
Two Greenville teenagers have been indicted for allegedly breaking into a home near Royse City in August.
The indictments against Oshay Xavier Scott Carter and Demarquez Dijuan Pugh were returned November 16 by the Hunt County grand jury.
Carter, 17, and Pugh, 18, both of Greenville, each received one indictment for burglary of a habitation. The pair were taken into custody August 16 by the Hunt County Sheriff’s Office in connection with the alleged burglary.
According to report from the sheriff’s office, a residential burglary occurred at around 4:30 a.m. August 5 at a residence near Hunt County Road 2584 near Royse City. The offense was captured on a video surveillance system where the suspects were alleged to have stolen jewelry, electronics — including computers and a television — and approximately $200 in cash.
The charge is a second degree felony, punishable upon conviction by a maximum sentence of from two to 20 years in prison and an optional fine of up to $10,000.

Work on water line project could start May 24

The city council awarded a contract on the project during a special meeting on May 7. Actual construction of the water line will cost about $58,000. There will be other expenses — engineering and testing, for example — but the total cost of the project will not exceed $71,000. -
