UPDATE: Driver survives Tuesday morning crash

GREENVILLE — The driver of an 18-wheeler which crashed along Interstate 30 in Greenville this morning was not seriously hurt in the wreck.

The westbound lanes of interstate 30, just before the State Highway 34/Wesley Street exit, will be closed for about 35 more minutes, according to Trooper Kyle Bradford with the Texas Department of Public Safety.

"The driver was ejected, but he is expected to survive with minor injuries," Bradford said. The driver, whose name was not released, was transported to the Hunt Regional Medical Center hospital in Greenville.

The semi was reported to have rolled over at around 10;45 a.m. Tuesday between the 92 and 93 mile marker on the highway.  The westbound interstate was shut down and traffic was diverted to the service road.

A cause for the accident was reported to still be under investigation. Crews with the Texas Department of Transportation will be cleaning a fuel spill on the left shoulder of the highway, which is expected to reopen at around 2 p.m. today.
