GREENVILLE — Hunt County and most of Northeast Texas has been placed under "very high fire danger" conditions today, due to the extreme drought and heat. Hunt County and most of the state remains under a ban on outside burning and Stage 2 water conservation measures are in force. An excessive heat warning also remains in place, with a high today expected to reach 108 degrees, marking the 35th day in a row of triple digit afternoon temperatures. Afternoon highs are forecast to reach into the triple digits each day through at least Wednesday, with no chances of rain.
