Three arrested in vandalism spree

GREENVILLE — Three people were arrested late Tuesday night and charged with felony criminal mischief and/or engaging in organized criminal activity, in connection with a reported vandalism spree during which dozens of vehicles were damaged.

Austin Stanphill, 18, and and Colton D. Miller, 17, both of Greenville, were reported in custody at the Hunt County Jail Wednesday morning, each being held in lieu of $25,000 bond on the charges. The name of a third defendant, an 18 year-old male from Wolfe City, was not released as the individual had not been arraigned as of Wednesday evening.

According to a report from the Greenville Police Department, a resident in the 600 block of Center Point Lane indicated someone had shot the glass out of her vehicle. The resident was able to provide a description of the suspect vehicle. Officers responded to the area and located a vehicle matching the description, occupied by the three males. Officers conducted their investigation and determined that a BB gun was used to break the windows of vehicles in various neighborhoods in Greenville.

Officers met and interviewed victims of the spree throughout the day Wednesday. As of Wednesday evening, there were more than 60 reports of vehicles damaged.
