GREENVILLE —
The final, unofficial, vote count from Tuesday’s elections in Hunt County will not be released until the end of this week.
Hunt County Elections Administrator Mina Cook said Wednesday that approximately 176 “provisional” ballots still need to be counted. Cook originally believed that the procedure could have been done Wednesday, but the ballot board was unable to meet at that time.
“We are still working on provisional ballots to see which ones will be accepted and rejected,” Cook said. “We have to research each one to see if it’s going to be accepted or not. The ballot board will meet Friday to open any provisional ballots that will be accepted, then we will have the final ‘unofficial’ count.”
A total of 28,283 people participated in the election in Hunt County, for a voter turnout of 56.14 percent.
